Shoshone Falls
Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho is a popular and historic stop for visitors to southern Idaho. Often referred to as the “Niagara of the West”, the waters of the Snake River cascade 212 feet (64.7m) down over the 900 ft. (274m) wide canyon rim to the river below, making Shoshone Falls 36 ft. (10.97m) higher than its majestic sister in upstate New York.

Is Shoshone Falls really full at this time? How long do you expect it to be spectacular? The only time I saw it was in the fall and there was hardly any water coming over it at that time. I’d really like to see it when it is at its best.

I have been to Twin Falls before & there was very little water coming over water was being held back for irrigation want to know what status is now
Might come to the Twin Falls area in mid May. Will there be water over the falls or will it choked off? Ain`t driving to TF if there ain`t nothin to see.
Hi Doug,
Flows vary from year to year with snowpack and release amounts and days, etc. You can always contact the Chamber of Commerce as it gets closer to your dates to see how much flow there is. Thanks.
May is a great time to see the waterfalls! Don’t forget to check out Twin Falls too! During early spring the falls are usually at their best with full waterflow. You will be amazed going to Shoshone Falls. Remember to walk up the hill past the visitor stands to the walking trails where you will be able to see a beautiful panaromic view of the falls. You may also see cute lizards sunning on rocks (don’t worry they are very small), rabbits, and prairie dogs too. Remember sun block, a light jacket, and a bottle of water as it may still be chilly but it is easy to get a sunburn here.
